Zzzzzs
I've been spending many hours in gardens. I've done weeding, planting, spreading wood chips, making a trail. The six gardens where I work over the bridge in Superior needed a lot of attention. The diversity was down compared to the original planting. Now the gardens are much more in shape. I've sweated through digging and pulling -some from the effort and some from some of the hot August days. I've built up some muscles and burned some calories. I enjoy the time outside and know these gardens are educational gardens demonstrating native plants and rain gardens. Rain gardens are ways to handle stormwater. Native plants are suited to an area, tend to have much deeper roots to handle periods of lack of rain and can handle the rain when it does come and the directed flow brings more water from other areas, such as from a roof. I've been lugging buckets of water to water the newly planted plants since we've haven't been having much rain and the new plants want a drink. I like to see how far the gardens have come along at getting in shape. There is much more diversity, and more of a variety of flowers are out blooming away serving as food for bees and other winged creatures. The plants dance in the wind and some are well over 4 to 5 feet. The insect activity looks a bit like dancing, too. Does the wind make some more music for the insects to hear? Do the insects hear each other at the neighboring flower or are they just intent on feeding? How about if you are ready to write a song or just make a little music - or fill in space when you forget a line in a song -try adding some zsss to the tune. We probably have hummed a song or maybe adding some la la' or do and dahs. How about use the language or sounds of a bee or insect to your song. Z Ze Zeeeeeeeeee. Our use of zzzzs doesn't have to only be connected with sleeping. Use them in a song.
