A season of music ahead

I've switched jobs this fall.  I've moved into part-time work and it's at the high school 3 blocks away.  I hear the acapella singers and the practicing orchestra and band players. Some have been Veterans Day patriotic songs and now the holiday music is beginning.  I've proposed to do an upcoming dulcimer intro class this winter for a little folk music and music simply for fun.  I like the part-time hours as it leaves me time for the local art fairs, local newsletter production, volunteer projects, and should be a part of time for exercise.....  Dulcimer Day in Duluth is a project that happens now for the event next May.  In December I'll be contacting performer/instructors for the 15th year for the event.  The event will be May 14 - a bit later than usual.

Mark your calendar for May 14 for the Dulcimer Day in Duluth festival.

I'll be playing holiday music at a few places this month.  I love to do it on both the mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimer.   How many times have I played Hark the Herald or Joy to the World?  I lost count but it's a fun experience every time and I love to have students add a holiday tune to their repertoire.  Familiar tunes come easier.  Music is in us and it's a great experience to make music, too.
