Snow, Flowers, Music

Plenty of snow is here now in the Duluth area.  Our deck rail has portions that are close to two feet high from snow after snow -- and more snow coming tonight in this winter storm warning.  It's winter - snow is good.  We like to get outdoors and enjoy the winter on the ski trails, along the shore of Lake Superior, or even the look out the winter by day or moonlit night.

It can't hurt to think spring.  Deep underneath these mounds of snow are seeds, buds, roots, and shoots ready to grow when the opportunity arises.  It is a couple months from now before green will appear.  In fact, in early May Dulcimer Day in Duluth will come - when there probably won't be any flashing lights of snowplows, mounds of snow to stretch your neck around to turn on a street corner, slippery icy or slushy sidewalk to walk on, or a quietness from the too cold temps that brings a stillness.  Fresh music.  Feeling alive.  Time to grow.  Dulcimer Day equals a bit of spring.  Both are coming - they are on their way.   Even early spring flowers will begin to appear and the fresh smell of spring.

I have 3 new dulcimers in stock and soon to be on the web - a bass dulcimer, an ebony fretboard hourglass cherry with redwood top dulcimer, and an hourglass walnut with redwood top.  I also have double dulcimer cases in stock again.

I will be down at the Winter Bluegrass Weekend Feb 28-March 2 in Plymouth, MN with a vendor booth.  I'm sure there will be great concerts and the lively music from jams all over.
